５月24日、日本自律学習学会（The Japan Association for Self-Access Learning=JASAL）理事長のKatherine Thornton氏が来学し、セルフアクセスセンター（SAC）見学ツアーとして、本学関係者とともに言語開発センター（LDC）及び学生の交流スペース「セーレン グローバルハブ」を見学しました。ツアーは、グローバル人材育成研究センター長のディラン ジョーンズ教授による本学のSACに関する説明から始まり、その後の施設見学では、参加者は設備に興味を示しながら学生の説明に耳を傾けていました。施設見学後は、学生を含め、参加者全員でSACの運営やその他の様々な課題について意見交換を行い、短時間でしたが有意義な時間を過ごしました。
今後もグローバル人材育成研究センターでは、世界で活躍できるグローバル人材の育成を目的として語学を学ぶための体制と環境整備を進めていきます。
On May 24, Ms. Katherine Thornton, President of the Japan Association for Self-Access Learning (JASAL), visited the University of Fukui to tour the Self-Access Center (SAC). The tour began with an explanation of the UF’s SAC by Prof. Dylan JONES, Director of the Center for Global Education and Research. Participants then toured the Language Development Center (LDC) and the SEIREN GLOBAL HUB as SAC facilities, and listened to explanations from students while showing interest in the facility. After the tour, all participants, including the students, exchanged opinions about SAC operations and various other issues, spending a short but meaningful time together. The Center for Global Education and Research will continue to provide students a great environment for learning languages, aiming to support developing students into global leadership who can work internationally.
